Fibrenet’s call for PhD candidates was a success

Between January 22nd and March 11th, Fibrenet consortium opened a global call for PhD fellowships. The vacancies were opened around Europe and they were related to several different research fields as shown in the table below.

Before the closing date of the call, a total amount of 855 applications was received for the 15 open vacancies. This is considered as a very good result. Of the 855 applicants, 131 were European and 724 were non-European. Furthermore, there were 197 female applicants and 658 male applicants.

The assessment of the applications has started and the decisions will be available at latest in the beginning of May 2018.
