In March, the FibreNet consortium got more than 850 applications for the 15 open vacancies and we have almost had an embarrassment of riches! Good candidates all over the world have shown their interest in the open positions.
I was glad to sense the sparkling enthusiasm and energy of the young researchers during the interviews. The topic and the consortium of the project had evoked genuine interest and made it difficult to choose only one candidate for the position. Taking into account the drive and the expertise of the interviewed people, I could have hired them all!
As the selection of the candidates is coming to the end, it turns a new page in the selected researchers’ lives: moving to a new country and new culture as well as new working environment. I wish it also brings them all a bunch of new happy memories and friends!
